With the appearance of an elderly Edwardian gentleman, the First Doctor had an insatiable scientific curiosity. Initially he had little time for the concerns of his fellow travellers and was not averse to resorting to deception in order to get his own way, but over time he mellowed and developed a strong sense of justice.

His rather shabby clothes and unkempt appearance, along with his childish behaviour, would often lead the Second Doctor’s enemies to underestimate him. But by hiding his keen mind behind a clownish persona, he was able to out-manoeuvre and outwit his opponents without them quite realising how he had done it.

Exiled to Earth for breaking the laws of his own people, the flamboyant Third Doctor resented being trapped on one planet in one time period. However, he assisted the UNIT organisation in their fight against extraterrestrial threats. His freedom to travel through time and space in the TARDIS was eventually returned to him by the Time Lords.

The wide eyed enthusiasm and irreverence of the Fourth Doctor proved infectious to many who met him, but frequently irritating to authority figures and tyrants. Reluctant to form attachments and resentful of being manipulated by his fellow Time Lords, he cherished his life as a wanderer in space and time.

Youthful in appearance the cricket-loving Fifth Doctor possessed a quiet charm and a breathless enthusiasm for his travels through time and space. Although not as forthright as some of his previous incarnations had been, the Fifth Doctor would never shy away from making a stand against oppression and injustice.

Garishly dressed, the Sixth Doctor held himself in high esteem, coming across as arrogant and pompous. But beneath this bravado, he harboured self-doubt and would occasionally lapse into reflection and melancholia. Nevertheless, he would never come up short when it came to righting wrongs and fighting the forces of evil.
7
The whimsical persona of the Seventh Doctor concealed the calculating mind of a master manipulator. Playing the long game, he would keep his plans to outwit his enemies close to his chest, and would even go as far as deceiving his companion, Ace, using her as an unwitting pawn in his complex schemes.
8
In keeping with his Byronic appearance and elegant dress sense, the Eighth Doctor was a true romantic. He embraced his life with energetic joy, diving into adventure and eager to protect the weak from the forces of evil. He was especially fond of humans, and admitted that he himself was half-human (on his mother’s side).
9
The Ninth Doctor had a strong thirst for adventure and was eager to share the many wonders of the universe with his travelling companion, Rose. But he carried with him a great sadness for the recent loss of his own people, the Time Lords. He had zero tolerance when confronting oppressors, fools and cowards.
10
The Doctor’s Tenth incarnation was seemingly fun loving and happy-go-lucky, enjoying touring the universe and sharing its wonders with his companions. Beneath the surface though, he carried the guilt of being the only surviving Time Lord, having been responsible for their destruction in the Last Great Time War.

Somewhat lacking in sentiment, the Twelfth Doctor is emotionally distant and often struggled to empathise with others and adhere to social etiquette. His ruthless application of cold logic to situations often appear heartless and cruel, but his opposition to tyranny and injustice is fierce and uncompromising.
I suppose you might say that I am a citizen of the universe, and a gentleman to boot.
The First Doctor
The Daleks' Master Plan
There are some corners of the universe which have bred the most terrible things. Things which act against everything that we believe in. They must be fought.
The Second Doctor
The Moonbase
The Time Lords have programmed the TARDIS always to return to Earth. It seems that I'm some kind of a galactic yo-yo!
The Third Doctor
The Claws of Axos
You know, you're a classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain.
The Fourth Doctor
The Robots of Death
For some people, small, beautiful events is what life is all about!
The Fifth Doctor
Earthshock
In all my travellings throughout the universe I have battled against evil, against power-mad conspirators. I should have stayed here. The oldest civilisation, decadent, degenerate and rotten to the core.
The Sixth Doctor
The Trial of a Time Lord
There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream. People made of smoke, and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea's getting cold.
The Seventh Doctor
Survival
How can you miss me? I'm easy to find. I'm the guy with two hearts, remember.
The Eighth Doctor
Doctor Who - The TV Movie
The Daleks have failed! Why don't you finish the job and make the Daleks extinct. Rid the universe of your filth. Why don't you just die?
The Ninth Doctor
Dalek
I'm the Doctor. I'm a Time Lord. I'm from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. I'm nine hundred and three years old and I'm the man who's going to save your lives and all six billion people on the planet below. You got a problem with that?
The Tenth Doctor
Voyage of the Damned
Yes, I'm dying. You've been trying to kill me for centuries, and here I am, dying of old age. If you want something done, do it yourself.
The Eleventh Doctor
Time of the Doctor
I'm the Doctor. I've lived for over two thousand years, and not all of them were good. I've made many mistakes, and it's about time I did something about that.
The Twelfth Doctor
Deep Breath
